Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to book a course of tuition, or can I have ad hoc sessions?
Either is fine. Often it will take more than one session to cover a topic, and it is more economical to block book. However, if you just want the occasional visit to cover something specific, call or e-mail and we'll arrange a suitable time.
Do you accept complete beginners?
Certainly - we will work out a structured learning programme tailored to your needs.
I know I could do with some training, but I'm not sure exactly which areas to request.
Don't worry - in your initial free session we shall discuss your requirements and agree a learning plan.
I have heard that the European Computer Driving Licence is a good all-round grounding in PC skills. Do you offer this?
The ECDL is an excellent way to obtain a broad introductory level of PC skills, and is increasingly recognised by employers and educational establishments. Tuition in the various modules can be provided up to the point when you are ready to take the assessments. One to One PC Tuition does not currently have the ability to run the tests, but advice can be provided on local centres where this can be done.
Is there a charge for travelling to my home?
There is no charge for visits within the HP4 and immediate area. For longer journeys, please contact us to discuss.
What about support following my tuition sessions?
Because at the moment this is a small, one-person company, telephone and e-mail support is not available. Any questions or difficulties can be addressed at your next session.
I have problems with my PC. Can you sort it out?
Hardware repairs are not offered - however, advice can be given on good practice in managing your computer.
Do you provide tuition for Macs, or just PCs running Windows?
Sorry, we only cover PCs running Windows.
